Role: Creative Direction
Every day at 6am Zulily launches thousands of new products for sale, and customers rely on email to discover their next great find. The Daily Email launches every morning with optimized content based on customer preference and best sellers. It is followed by an afternoon incremental email featuring special offers or steep product discounts, and is specifically segmented and targeted based on customer behavior and engagement. Zulily’s robust email trigger program consists of roughly one hundred email types and are built as a one-to-one experience directly linked to a customer’s actions.
When joined the team, I realized the need to create more efficiency through templates that are consistently designed and branded for a better user experience, while also allowing for maximum flexibility, daily content changes, and ease of testing for the deployment team.
The design team researched, sketched, designed, iterated, then user-tested for qualitative customer feedback. Each new design was launched and tested in batches to measure the impact of deliverability and demand. Incremental testing and optimization is always ongoing.
